Melodie has been working in health, wellness, and dietary planning since 2005. Throughout her undergraduate studies in nutrition at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, she quickly realized that researching, writing, and educating others were her true passion. She went on to complete her Master of Science in food science and human nutrition from the University of Maine in Orono (read her thesis abstract here). Melodie is currently pursuing her PhD at the University of Texas at Dallas and hopes to find a resolution for over-prescribing drugs, medical malpractice issues, and abuse of prescription medications.

It is common for Melodie to say she is a “prepper by nature.” If there is something she can teach others to live their best through health and defensive tactics, she’s all in. She spends most of her time researching and writing medical analyses and use of force documents for her clients. Melodie is a certified instructor through the National Rifle Association (NRA). Her true passion is in women and senior defense, as well as basic pistol instruction. She teaches concealed carry weapons (CCW) courses in Arizona and license to carry (LTC) courses Texas, as well as several NRA-approved firearm and defensive courses.

Melodie is active in her Catholic ministry and enjoys serving her community throughout North Dallas. In her spare time, Melodie is known for taking sporadic road trips, riding horses, knitting at her local yarn shop, and visiting local gun ranges. She hopes to one day learn mounted shooting and have enough land to rescue alpacas and horses.
